Diving en masse from their icy platform, these Adelie penguins court danger every time they enter the water. Ever aware of their main predator, the Leopard seal, these birds will line up on the edge of the ice and wait for the bravest to leap first. The remaining birds will attempt to enter the water together, reducing their chances of becoming prey.
