It took me a while to stop complaining about the light, and finally be inspired by our grey, flat-light days at sea. I started seeing things in the mist and subtleties of light that I had missed on so many trips before. Having a Canon 5D3 and Adobe Lightroom had me feeling like I was back in the darkroom as a 13 year old, mucking about stretching tonal ranges, and seeing what pushing an image could deliver. My feeling is "never let reality get in the way of a good photograph", and black & white & Antarctica finally "clicked" for me.
I hope you enjoy my take on things south of 60 degrees...

Note: not all of these images are available for sale just yet, but all will be... I'm still working on quite a few. Contact me if there's anything specific you'd like me to hurry up with! Although the partner labs that Zenfolio uses for printing offer a huge variety of choices, not all are available from the country you may be ordering from, and I feel that sometimes, too much choice is a bad thing. So generally, I've offered the image in a print size and media that I think will work. Please contact me if you'd like a different size or option not shown here, and I'll let you know if it's possible.
